Distant Bliss & Chill Hop explores the mellow vibes of instrumental based hip-hop, chilled out beats and sundown samples. Gentle lofi melodics fuse with dusty breaks, saturated synths and acoustic guitars.
Original blissed out compositions and motifs were re-sampled, chopped and layered to create glowing textures and motifs. We recorded vintage pianos, classic synths, intimate vocals, live instrumentation and synthetic sound design and then experimented with lofi sampling and processing techniques including hardware emulations, bit-crushers, tape fx and re-pitching.
Explore a character driven drum kit of one shots and loops. Vintage machine drums and re-sampled live hits include punchy kicks, splashy snares, metallic percussion and shuffling hats. Drenched in tasteful saturation and low-res vibes. Loops include classic unquantized beats and future forward lofi rhythms.
Created in collaboration with lofi hip hop artist and beatmaker Marc aka misc.inc. From his studio in Dresden, Germany he combines soulful chords with organic sound design and rhythmic boom bap grooves to create stories and feelings.
