anem0s has been hard at work the past few years, putting out scene-beloved sample packs from behind their unassuming bearded dragon profile pic, as well as producing for artists such as 4cf, patrick o’neill and other members of dialtone, an internet music collective they founded. While their past packs were based on pure synthesis, many of the sounds in ‘timbre tinker’ are taken from field recordings and granulated, liquified, chopped up, then reassembled—marking an evolution of their process.
Starting with a collection of recordings from their life over the past summer, this pack is a sentimental extension of experiences: “visiting friends in LA, on the beach walking through waves, or my partner’s cat, Leo, sleeping on my laptop.” The final samples range from familiar foley to brisk drums, breezy synths, and watery textures that have been tinkered with past their recognizable forms.
anem0s proudly presents the pack with the following announcement: “the lizards and I have been hard at work foraging for sounds to tweak and adjust… we hope our catalog is fit to your liking.”
